Blackstone Sophomore Internship

Hi all,

I just got an interview invitation from BX PE Portfolio Operations Team. It's going to be a 30min phone interview. Has anyone been through the same process? It's going to be my first interview with PE and any sort of advice will be much appreciated :) Thank you very much!

Be sure you can clearly explain every bullet point on your resume -- If you can't, you may want to reconsider its inclusion. Have a set of notes in front of you that you can refer to that has data on recent acquisitions, happenings in BX major asset classes, latest earnings report, questions etc. Use a pair of headphones with a microphone so you can keep your hands free to skim your notes, jot things down that may help you in the next round of interviews, and also so you don't have to fumble with your phone.

My interviewer wasn't part of the division I was applying for so it may be wise to ask your contact who you're interviewing with, or at the minimum, what business unit they're from so you can ask some framed questions that allow them to speak on their own experiences/role at the Firm. If you do find out who is interviewing you, search them on LinkedIn and try to learn about them before your call, but don't ask pointed questions that make it look like you hardcore stalked them. ;)

Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.
