Coinvest dynamics and resigning
Hey all,
How does Co-investing work if you leave early before the investment is realized?
Let’s say you co-invest and then you leave after 3 years, investment realized in 5 years.
How does it work if you get laid off/miss promo? Do you still get to realize your coinvestments after the holding period?
This is specific to coinvesting in portcos, not the overall fund.

Use the search function, this topic comes up like once a week... Short answer is it varies firm to firm based on your docs. Generally will be one of a few options: buy out at cost, buy out at current FMV, or allow you to keep your equity till sale.
