Do the Canadian PE funds (pension funds but also others like Onex, Brookfield, etc.) have distinct PE operations / value creation teams?

Or are those responsibilities all in the purview of an investment associate? On LinkedIn, I notice that titles for Canadian shops always seem to just say "Associate" or something generic like that.

Follow-up question: which Canadian funds have the largest focus on operational improvements?

Can't give you a full picture but can give you a few data points:

+ CPP PE: Has a dedicated value creation team (see linked Associated/Senior Associate role presently being advertised https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/CPPInvestments/743999791226333-associa…).

+ BCI PE: Unclear, but I know their Infra team has some value creation folk on their bench so potentially yes.

+ OMERS PE: Has a dedicated value creation team which they call "Strategy & Operations" or "Operations & Strategy" (both titles are used by the requisite MDs).

Hope this helps.
