Forced seller and forced buyer? Moyer book

Just started reading the distressed investing book by Moyer. If IG asset managers are forced to sell after a company is downgraded from Baa to Ba and some HY asset managers are required to buy the bonds to track the HY index, what's the implication here for the bond price? Seems like a lot of man-made factors here.
