HarbourVest Private Credit
Hello,
Does anyone have any intel on HarbourVest Private Credit based in Boston? Note this is a direct lending role not an allocating / FoF role like the rest of HarbourVest (the HV private credit team raises their own private credit funds). Looking for general information on culture, deal flow, work-life balance, compensation, etc. I know the group does both senior lending (1L, unitranche, etc.) and junior capital (2L, sub debt, HoldCo debt, and some common equity) in the middle market space. Seems like an interesting angle they have with the HarbourVest FoF being LPs in so many Sponsors' funds that the HarbourVest private credit group gets preferred allocations. Anything to be wary of with this group?
Thanks!

Bump
I've met with Harbourvest twice in my career. Once in 2013 (didn't get the job) and once in 2021 (about the VP of Private Credit position that is still open lol). I can't provide much context bc the role in 2013 was a super bummy entry job. All that to say - I'm still cool with a couple guys who interviewed me. WLB is good relative to the salary and 'prestige' associated with the place. The people there are also generally open to cold emails. In 2013 I cold emailed two guys and got to the final round. In 2021 I used my contact and cold emailed a VP in the Private Credit group who I ended up talking to 3/4 times. The two guys I emailed in 2013 are still there and had been there prior. You will see a lot of people who came in and got promoted up. They're big on internal promotions. I know this probably doesn't 'help' per se. But just some info.
Cheers mate
