Citi Leveraged Finance Underwriting
Hi guys, I need help understanding a role. What exactly do analysts on the Citi leveraged finance underwriting (LFU) team do? I found very little information online, and the opinions I found are somewhat contradictory. Some say that because this is first line of defense / in-business credit, it is closer to FO as you are embedded in the deal team with a specific risk mandate, and that its categorization under ICM (“Institutional Credit Management”) is a relic of the reorganization from OCC consent orders Citi was recently under. Others say that this is MO reporting/bitchwork that will silo future career prospects. What is the actual work, how much deal/modeling exposure would an analyst get, and what are the exits? Also, how does it compare to the CIB Credit role at TD? If anyone has any insights, I’d be very grateful. Thanks!
