headhunters for PE ops/value creation roles/interviews?

Currently exploring exit opps from consulting. Got contacted by a headhunter for a PE portfolio ops position today and figured I might as well look into this path (value creation team at PE firms) and apply to more firms. (For context, I currently have 3 years of experience (after undergrad), divided between corporate strategy at a public company and mbb consulting. If I go for a series B or C startup I could likely start in a manager position now.)

Can someone comment on

1) how to source these portfolio ops opportunities/get interviews (apart from networking/individually reaching out to people at the firms); are there specific headhunters you'd recommend I reach out to?

2) career path/potential: what exit ops can PE ops role lead to? If I join as an associate and work for 2-4 years, can I then land at a startup at a senior manager/director level? I know ops team is sort of like 2nd class citizen/has limited upside potential compared to investing roles at a PE firm; I most likely am not interested in staying long-term. My long-term goal is to start my own company (VC-backed startup or company with a traditional business model), and I've been looking at startup opportunities/was considering climbing up the corporate ladder within a startup to get to director level in the mid term.

3) what does the day-to-day look like/what skills do you gain in PE ops?

So, in a nutshell, should I even divert some energy to looking at PE ops roles, or just focus on startup opportunities? I figured that if I have PE ops opportunities/interviews coming my way, I'll gladly take the interview and see where it goes, but I don't plan on actively networking/spending much energy to get interviews.

Thanks!
