How did SF Bankers do for NYC PE On Cycle?

for sf bankers who were recruiting for nyc firms during on cycle, how did that go given the quickness of the timeline. Were you allowed to do interviews via zoom?

Some of the SF/Bay Area firms wanted us in person, but the NYC firms allowed us to have virtual interviews. Not sure if it's because of the speed of this year's process that they couldn't actually fly us out though.

Didn't feel like it was too difficult in terms of getting interviews. I got interview requests from shops on both the West Coast and in NYC (sometimes for both offices under the same firm). I would say if you're doing tech/TMT IB on the Bay Area and want to continue in tech investing, the options are more limited in NYC, as many of the largest buyside firms with strong tech practices are located on the West Coast.
