How to plan for the future? (Moving to buyside in 1-2years) Any advice?

(Very) Mediocre monkey in a top team at a BB in London.

I'm planning for the inevitable move to the buy-side in a year, and also the long term stuff.

  • What are some things people often forget to think about?
  • What are some top considerations you would recommend a junior think about?
  • How do we plan this all out? or at least not blindly follow the crowd into the buyside etc?

Just some advice would be nice :)
