Industrials PE Resources

Think there was a somewhat similar thread on Business Services but are there any good websites / primers / reports covering trends in the industrials space (including private equity activity)? Know there are a lot of specialized websites for spaces like tech and healthcare

As someone who spent most of their career in industrials, I never really had a go-to source for information. I think the business services thread faces a similar challenge:  You're investing in a type of business and not an industry. Most resources tend to be industry focused -- Automotive, Aerospace, Chemicals, the list goes on and on. Industrials is ridiculously broad and encompasses a seemingly endless number of industries.

As an industrials investor, you'll probably invest in a lot of manufacturing or distribution type businesses. I recommend you try to find some online resources that build your knowledge of these business types. The better you understand the ins-and-outs of manufacturing, the easier it will be for you to assess opportunities regardless of the industry they are in. You can also potentially build a high level understanding of various different manufacturing trends (which do vary by industry), such as outsourcing to low cost regions or returning to "made in America" (one of the most talked about ones).
