LMM PE London

Can someone give an overview of the LMM PE space in London - what are the typical fund/deal sizes, what should we expect for comp, career progression etc?

Definitely happy to give up short term comp if longer term upside is still good and from what others have said for LMM in the US some of these seats are great. But relatively little information for the UK.

Also if anyone knows of any good LMM shops that would also be very helpful!

  • Typical fund size - ~£100 - 500m per fund - which translates to deal sizes (equity tickets) of ~£10m to around £50m+
  • Career progression
    • Associate / Exec - 2 / 3 yrs
    • Manager / VP - 3 - 5 yrs
    • Director - 5 (+) yrs (?) - depends more on fund
    • Partner
  • Comp - it will disappoint vs. US funds (and MF) - but carry typically allocated early on (at Associate / Exec level)
