Hi, just wanted to understand this industry and work at a small PE shop- LMM or even smaller- size and comp is not an issue. Does anyone know any PE shop that takes 'inexperienced' interns- any anecdotal case that comes to mind perhaps?

I'm an associate intern at a PE in London. I've seen people without direct experience get internship offers from LMM to MM PEs, but they usually have work experience/internships that can help, like a background in VC, valuations, consulting, etc. Most folks with no relevant work experience at all take search fund internships.
I was under the impression that there were few search funds in the UK, and that it is more common to land such internship opportunities in the US. Do you know where we can find any lists of London-based search funds?
In my experience, there are actually a lot, but they're often only posted by alums to their Bschools.
Ah, I see. So, do these funds run formal internship programmes- summer and off cycle- or are students recruited through university networks only? Thanks for your reply!
