London PE - Notice Periods
Hi all,
What notice period are you all on in London PE? Been moved to 6 months - feels high for the IM level? Assume that'd make any lateral move more difficult..
Thanks

Career Resources
3 months at IM level, feels like 6 months is off-market.
Thanks - as I thought (and judging by others' respones). Accompanied with a lacklustre pay rise to rub salt in the wounds..!
3 months as well here
Is shorter or longer better?
There's a sweet spot between job security and flexibility to move.
3 months as IM I believe
Six months is indeed long for an IM, with 3 months being much more in line with market. I know some of the very large funds have longer notice periods but the MM / LMM ones appear to be shorter. Even IDs can often still be at 3 months.
All that said, the more senior you get the more separations become a negotiated outcome that often doesn’t mirror the contract perfectly. The contract is in place if the individuals cannot come to a reasonable agreement on separation terms.
