Mentorship/Development in Industry?

Just wanted to get a sense of what other young professionals feel about this topic. Whether it be watching interviews with prominent finance figures, learning about the stories of ex bankers I worked with, or just like reading blogs. There seems to be a common trend where a common advice point is find a good mentor or someone who is really willing to teach you and you can learn from. I personally had this at 1 time in my first job, however, since then there has been absolutely 0 mentorship or like teaching through a career in IB and now into PE. Is this not how things are anymore? I’ve heard a ton of stories of “I sat behind so and so and just learned from him”. Even the whole story with Jamie Dimon and Sandy Weill. It just seems like either this has faded or has always been very rare. What do y’all think?

Finding mentorship Post-COVID is actually incredibly tough. It really did a number on people's social skills which has continued to persist.
