Networking with VP+ for associate role at UMM/MF
Networked with an alum from my MBB firm at a fund I’m interested in which was helpful but he didn’t know anything about their recruiting plans. Does it make sense to reach out to an alum from my undergrad there? There’s several at the fund and they’re all VP+ level so it could help get my foot in the door but since they’re all senior, I’m not sure what kind of questions to ask them, especially ones that wouldn’t be repetitive of what I discussed with the associate
Ironically, networking with VPs generally does not help as they do not know when someone is recruiting. The best likelihood of networking and getting in the door is personally knowing a partner who will hire you.
