Those unemployed in PE 3+ months, how do you make progress every day?

I won't share too much since I have a somewhat unique case. Will just say I left my PE job for a risk that didn't pan out. I'm coming up on my third month being functionally unemployed (i.e. not working on anything). I've gotten in touch with recruiters, spoken with my network and done some cold outreach to relevant people. By now, I'm starting to reach the limit of what I can do consistently each day. It's too early to follow up about openings, and any additional cold outreach will be much weaker (alumni, funds with similar mandates).

For anyone who's spent more than a few months unemployed after PE, what were you doing to get back into your PE role? Were you making progress each day? Were you filling your time with something else? Did you make money?

I'm staying healthy, working out, and seeing people so I can be healthier when I finally do start. Making money would be nice in case this lasts for a while, but jobs don't exactly grow on trees, plus I'm not sure if this would take away from something I could be doing to return.
