Just went through one (infra fund);

  • I received verbal offer
  • background check starts, they need: Verbal references (basically in this case the MD called my MD, the Director called one of the Directors), regulatory references, last payslip, criminal background (from the UK and from my home country), university titles and any other certification.
  • once everything was confirmed I signed the contract

Hope it was useful

Thanks!

Interesting, so it means your MD knows you are leaving before you even resign? Wouldn't this be a risk in case the offer falls through?

How did you handle this? Did you inform you MD about the move pre the reference call? What did you say?

Appreciate any advice on how to handle this

I do not want to lose my current job in the case anything goes wrong with the references
