PE Invite Question

Hey Everyone,

I got invited to the office of a large PE firm( think Apollo, Blackstone, KKR) to meet with the group I have applied for as a full time analyst (in London) in the fall. They said it will be a networking event, serving drinks and food. What should I expect? I know it's pretty self explanatory. My question is, is there going to be 30 other people gunning for the same position? Is this already a narrowed down group? I'm new to the formal PE recruiting process. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would think it would be a larger group of people, and mainly for networking, meet & greet purposes. If it was presented as a networking event, served with refreshments, I doubt it would be a select group that they already plan on advancing in the recruiting process.

Best of luck, let us know how it goes.

I remember reading somewhere that a number of times it is a major luck factor that helps you secure a spot. So I'd say keep in mind the intense competition but just make the most of the opportunity.
