PE IR Compensation after IB

I have read through some threads and understand there are drawbacks of going down the IR path, but still think it could be a good option for me and would appreciate a little color on compensation.

Understanding that figures will vary firm-to-firm, what can one generally expect to earn doing IR at a relatively large firm (UMM/MF or well known MM) after two years of IB in a major center like NYC/SF?

On a related note, I have seen some BBs hiring for IR positions.  Any insights on compensation there?  Thank in advance.
