Any sign of PE firms in London raising comp following the changes in IBD - curious to hear about people's experiences with offers, HH's etc... With 20-40% pay bumps for AN/ASO, a lot of LMM/MM shops would be looking pretty uncompetitive if comp was the same as I remember pre-Covid

Cannot speak for LMM/MM funds but a good portion of UMM and MFs have raised base salaries. Some are still slightly below IB base, but pay higher bonuses >100% (GBP90-110k base ASO1). Others pay closer to 50/50 (fix/base) which will equate to GBP110-130k base ASO1.

Speaking with friends across the street, quite a few PE firms have not made any changes following IBD raises. Don’t know if they will adapt though, I think they seem to think IBD raises are seasonal and will not be sustained, we will have to see however also I think they also do not draw parallels between base raises and people remaining in IB. Seems like regardless of 10-20k increase, you’re going to leave if you have your heart set on PE.

Agreed, if you are an analyst at an EB looking at £120k base for Associate 1 compared to 90k at a MM PE fund, and probably a similar or bigger bonus considering the higher base, then I think a lot more will stay.
