PE Networking Events - Are they worth it?
I am currently an undergrad at university in London, I already have an IB internship secured for the upcoming summer, however, I would like to pursue a career in PE upon graduating. I am very aware that within PE, the intake at the grad level is very limited, so I want to give myself the best chance of success.
Subsequently, I have started to see a number of PE specific networking events and careers fairs being advertised around campus and online e.g. LSE Alternative Investments Conference (AIC), which claims to be the worlds largest student run conference on VC, PE and Hedge Funds. These all look like great opportunities to network and learn from those within the alternative investments space, however, I am not sure how to go about getting the most out of them...
**In light of this, I am just wondering how useful PE specific networking events and careers fairs are for those looking to break into the the industry? And if so, what is the best way to capitalise on these opportunities in order to build meaningful relationships with those present? **
