Should I be interviewing for other firms during the summer as a SA

I am currently a SA (one of two) at a MM PE firm. I love the team and find the work really interesting, so would absolutely work there FT if given an offer. Considering its not a traditional BB internship program, when I accepted the SA offer, I made sure to confirm with my recruiter that return offers are still commonly extended assuming good performance. A few of the analysts also served as interns as well. However, I'm somewhat worried that I'm competing with my co-intern for the offer, as the team is pretty bottom-heavy as it stands.

Even if this firm is my first choice, should I be interviewing with other shops this summer to cover my ass? I've applied to a few positions, but it seems that these interview processes will end before I even get the chance to receive a return offer. Anyone have advice on how to manage this? Also would love suggestions on how to schedule interviews while working.

Yes. ABI. Always be interviewing. Okay I don’t mean that literally but you should always be seeking to maximize what you can get. You don’t have a signed offer yet. You should be treating the recruiting process as if you are unemployed with no prospects. Worst case scenario, you need to be interviewing because you won’t get a return. Best case scenario you can leverage another offer to get more money/flexibility/etc
