Small PE firm interview for Analyst role
Hi all,
What can I expect in a 30 min phone interview for a small PE firm (10 ppl and 10-50MM portfolio companies)? After applying, I was asked some investment questions via email (compare investment A vs B, what stocks to invest in the current market, calculating transaction value) which then led to the opportunity for a phone interview with the sr. associate. I have a Big 4 Audit background with CPA so definitely no deal experience and kind of surprised I landed the interview tbh. If hired, I would be the only analyst on the team. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Could you elaborate on “calculate Transaction value”? was this simply ev/ equity bridge? thank you
It was more like your company is getting 80% acquired for XXM now + XXM if your EBITDA increases in the next year + XXM 10 year sellers note. Then I was told to calculate the total transaction value including the retained 20%.
could you please give a numerical example?
