Transition from Capital Markets to Real Estate Private Equity

Currently a capital markets analyst at a top 3 shop working with a high performing office & industrial team. Wondering if anyone had advice regarding timing, preparation, and networking to eventually work for a REPE group? The models my team works with are heavily catered towards a PE real estate model, so I'm starting to feel very confident with modeling and knowing area assumptions off the top of my head - looking for what else I could do to better prepare.
