In a more normal market is it possible to move from LMM PE (with big 4 M&A experience) to MM PE?

Yes of course. Obviously shades of grey apply (reputation of your current fund, destination fund, but this is possible; normal, even). Wise to express your interest in moving with recruiters (and motivations - moving from one fund to another should be a decision not taken lightly given potential carry, etc.)
Definitely doable. Seen several profiles from LMM funds go to the likes of Inflexion etc.
