What do PE Summers really mean?
I know quite a few people at my school that have gone on to score summer internships at the same mega fund in their second year of undergraduate degree. Obviously breaking into PE is extremely rare straight out of undergrad, but for those that do get summers, are their odds of getting a full time offer just a likely as their IB counterparts; or is it more of just a taster to lure them back in after a couple year on a bulge bracket analyst floor and an HBS MBA later?
