Which Job? Portfolio Operations Manager vs Fund Accountant
I began my career in a London LMM firm as an Assistant Fund Accountant before my internal move to Portfolio Analyst. I'm also sitting my last ACA exam so will be chartered soon.
I was recently offered a role as Portfolio Operations Manager (in the same company) and I am worried that the portfolio ops role would limit my exit opportunities which is why I initially thought of switching roles as a fund accountant where promotions and salary are more predictable.
Part of me thinks I should take the Portfolio Ops role, it's not as lucrative as a Portfolio Associate role and I have read on this forum there's a small chance it could lead to COO or Head of Strategy roles.
