1st round zoom screening

Maybe I’m dating myself a bit here but need to gut check that I’m not losing it. Prior to the pandemic, most first round interviews were phone screens right?

Now it seems that you can’t interview around without making sure you coordinate your work from home schedule in order to be able to zoom. I mean really what’s the point of being on a zoom to hear about the job you’re even applying for?

Is requesting a first round interview call over a zoom call an immediate ding now?

Does anyone zoom from the supply closet with the return to the office in full force? Would love to hear what people think of this.
