1st Year Analyst - Raise?
Hey monkeys,I am coming up on the 1-year mark in a month at a GSE lender as an underwriting analyst. There does not seem to be a title progression to chase after, other than becoming a certified MAP underwriter in a couple of years.Regardless, I believe I was able to contribute a sizable amount in my first year, and I wanted to hear your thoughts on asking for a raise if it seems appropriate. I work in a HCOL city, base 65k, and 20k EOY bonus. In a junior role right out of school, I know I do not seem to have too much leverage. But, it does seem healthy to think about it. I believe the standard raise is 5k base raise every year (at my shop as an analyst), but that does not seem to be fair compared to my peers. What do you think?

Once you hit one year, go and ask for a $15-20k raise. Why not right?
A junior at my firm was in the same spot as you. His one year came and he asked bossman for a $15k raise and got it no issue.
We are also a GSE lender, albeit in production.
