Argus as undergrad?
Curious if anyone in here had experience or certifications in ARGUS prior to graduation, and if it was a differentiator in any capacity for their FT hiring process.I'm considering going for an ARGUS course or something of that nature next semester in my free time but courses cost upwards of $1k and don't know if its worthwhile.
Would love any feedback.
I did the course/certification my junior year. I would say it helped… still felt like there was a lot to learn on the fly after the course, i.e. modeling complex office recovery pools. Does your school have a real estate club / dept? They sponsored mine and covered most of cost
Unfortunately my school doesn't have much of a real estate program so I think its unlikely I'd be able to get any sort of discount or reimbursement.
When you say that it helped, are you saying that more on the technical knowledge side or the differentiation side in recruiting?
Both. Definitely helped on the recruiting - was a differentiator since a lot of peers didn’t have any Argus experience
Some organizations like NAIOP/ULI/ICSC might offer discounts for students if not outright scholarships, you should check it out.
