Does anyone have any intel on them? They seem to compete with some pretty big names on deals but haven't seen lots of smart/talented people go there

my 2cents
they compete on big deals solely because of their large balance sheet. they invest a lot in RE on behalf of their insurance arm (from my knowledge) and hence have big tickets to throw around. this doesnt look like it will change any time soon
they dont attract the best talent but it is reputable and could be a good stepping stone (you should get decent experience). dont get me wrong there IS top talent there (throughout the IM arm in equities, FI, etc.) but on average probably second tier
Cheers for the insight, I had long suspected the balance sheet part haha. Any idea why they don't attract the best talent for RE though?
.
I would say at pgim I noticed a lot of Cornell, Princeton, UCs, and not that many state schools tbh
.
echo this for London / EU
They dont recruit almost at all at the grad level and i think it's seen as a less sexy name even though they are on big deals. Maybe lower comp is behind this perception but it's generally a fairly relaxed environment and culture
