Corp Banking to IB or RE?

I am currently going into my senior year of school and got a full time offer at a BB doing CB. I am unsure of what I would like to do long term. My current view of CB is its very cushy 9-5 excluding some groups which are a crapshoot of getting into. I am interested in CRE longer term. I feel as if I were to do CRE/REGAL at my bank I would have more tangible skills and industry knowledge to start something on my own later on which is my goal. I would like to start networking with my bank to learn more about CRE and CMBS but don’t want to network outside of my group prior to starting because that would be a bad look.

Just looking for some advice as I really don’t have many connections to real estate or people to talk about this with.
