Diversified Inv Manager vs Specialized Inv Manager

Not counting track record, organizational structure, leadership qualifications etc..Is it just me or are diversified investment managers considered to be more "sophisticated", for what it's worth? Is it, for lack of better words, "cooler" to work at one of these managers that are sector agnostic and invest across the capital stack.

I know it's a very open ended question. And the answer is a yes for me personally, but curious what the community think.
