Duff & Phelps RE Advisory Group, good way into the industry?
I have an interview with Duff & Phelps' Real Estate Advisory Group coming up and was wondering if anyone had any insight into the group. I know they do valuation, investment and transaction advisory, and RE M&A, but I am not sure if I would be working in one of these areas or getting experience in all of them. Would this be a good entry-level role to break into real estate after graduating? I want to end up in REPE, but I am not sure I'll be able to get in right after school due to my limited internship experience at a small commercial brokerage shop. Thanks in advance.
Yes, their clients are PE firms banks and REITS. You'll do a lot of research and basic modeling for valuations. Most importantly you'll get exp presenting or preparing presentations for very high level people at institutions you can learn from. Being able to speak to clients and sell business is very valuable. Not a bad start at all.
