I can't say that I've worked anywhere that has that. The usual process that templates get updated is when we think of new things to add and whenever there is a lull in deal flow, the analyst/associate would apply the change and test it out with existing deal numbers to see if everything is flowing through. I would assume a company isn't needing a complete overhaul of a template that would need consultants and teams to figure out. If the model is that bad that you would need outside help to completely rebuild, I would look to Linkedin fast.

Completely disagree. Many firms use consultants to build their template models. If you have the budget for it, why should you (1) rely on your 22 year old analyst to not screw it up and (2) waste time of your senior team. 
 

Many firms consult / build out institutional models for firms. Get REFM does this. So does CRE Models.
