Fuck MD’s with the old school mindset

I know pay in RE is variable so many of us still have to succumb to MD’s who think we deserve lesser pay just because that’s the way it was when they came up in the industry. Fuck them and don’t take those types of roles. I made the mistake of doing so and just wanted to inform the younger crowd that money does matter (to some extent). Don’t take what I said as the end all be all, but fuck it and get paid. if you’re in a low paying job, try getting another offer that you would take with higher pay and shaft it in your MD’s face (respectfully ofc, no need to burn bridges) and ask them to match. If they can’t, sayonara bitch.

This isn't just RE. Its everyone that has a old school mindset. My uncle has a large granite/marble countertop business. He employees more than 65 people over two warehouses. Him and his son (my cousin) always argue. The older mindset is this guy still thinks the minimum wage is $7, while the market for that type of labor is at $22-$25 an hour. These are people that are straight up in dangerous jobs cutting large blocks and lifting them as well. My cousin always tells him that they wont be able to be competitive and his dad always brushes him off like he's lazy or something. We are truly in a wage discovery period given the rapid rise we've seen. Some have adapted and others have not.
