How to include deal experience on resume?
I’m currently an AM associate with 3.5 YOE. I work at a smaller shop, so I support acquisitions about 20% of the time. I plan on applying to an investments associate role, so I would like to include both some AM assignments/projects and acquisitions deals.
I have a couple of questions about how I should include my deal experience.
- Should I list relevant deals immediately after the bullet points for each position, or should I create a separate section header exclusively for deal experience?
- How detailed should I be? Should each project/deal be limited to a single line, or should I include 2-3+ bullet points for each? What "must have" info do I need to include?
- Any recommendations for how I can clearly differentiate between my AM projects and acquisition deals without consuming too much space?
On a separate note, since I'm considering applying for investment associate/analyst roles, would it be a good idea to list my position as “Investment & Asset Management” on my resume, or would that be seen as deceptive? I know it's not my official title, but it's honestly a more accurate description of my responsibilities.
I really appreciate any help. Thanks!
