In need of some hope, buyers burnout.

The houses we have been interested in are in the 300k range, usually need work but that's what we want. The only issue is we get outbid by the people who flip. My heart sinks everytime we see them pull up when looking at a property. We have been out bid twice now with a 3rd one in. We do make a competitive offer within reason. Like 10k over asking and other contact negotiations. We are feeling burnt out and like we are giving up. We dont want to pay the high prices for crap flipped places. We have seen to many that are baffling and rampant in the area. Is there any hope that we could get what we are looking for? Any advice is welcome.
