Living next to a residential assisted living home? Anyone have any experience?
The house we are looking into buying meets all our requirements and is in a pretty good neighborhood close to work. Honestly, seemed too good to be true.
And indeed, we did find something interesting about it. The house next door looks like any normal house, but we found out it’s actually a residential assisted living facility. There’s around 5-6 patients living there at any time and they are provided nursing care 24/7.
I had no idea these were even a thing, but does anyone have any experience neighboring one of these? Should this be a deal breaker?

Long story, but I used to own a portfolio of group homes for the mentally incapacitated. That specific program was very highly regulated so the homes were always in good repair and never had any complaints from the neighbors.
If it was me, I would try and find out who runs the facility/who the owners are. If they are a large institutional owner, then you will probably be fine. If it is a mom and pop, might want to knock on some other neighbors doors and see if they will talk to you
I lived very close to one at one point. Never thought twice about it. There was zero impact.
