Manulife Asset Management layoff (Canada)
Heard that Manulife laid off 21 employees from the asset management division. Some of them are joining JLL instead. Can someone confirm whether if this is true?
Not sure if true, but I heard that they were outsourcing their PM team to JLL across North America. The crazier one is, and again stressing that I don't know this for sure but have heard it from multiple brokers, apparently they're also laying off all of their internal leasing across Canada. The entire team. I haven't heard anything about their AM staff, but the leasing one is pretty nuts if true.
Weird consider AM is probably the one division that thrives in these times.
