Masters in Real Estate from Johns Hopkins vs Auburn
Hey everyone,
I’m an emerging real estate developer in Tennessee looking strengthen my knowledge in the industry as I seek to niche in mix use development and underserved community development. Im looking at both Part-Time Auburn and Johns Hopkins Master’s programs. While JHU name recognition is clearly beating Auburn, Im worried the program may be to research heavy and not enough applied knowledge heavy. I’d love to get your thoughts on the two programs - teachers, network, courses, etc. I’m
I'm leaning heavily toward saying "between the two, Johns Hopkins" - but a couple questions if you don't mind:
1. Does it have to be part time and remote? There are a lot of good MRED/MSRE programs in the southeast like Clemson or Georgia Tech, or real estate focused MBA programs like UNC, that you're missing out on if it does, but I understand wanting to keep working if you can.
2. What is your goal with the program? Is it legitimacy / a resume point? A network? I personally wouldn't go to grad school for knowledge alone.
