Mortgage REITs with more aggressive mandates
Hey guys, it seems like most mortgage REITs i come across focuses on fairly vanilla deals - senior secured loans, reasonable LTVs, performing, etc. Two questions: 1. Are there any mREITs that are known for more aggressive / interesting strategies? 2. Also, is there a structural reason the more aggressive / opportunistic debt deals (lower in the cap stack / sub-performing / etc) are done by debt funds rather than mREITs?
Thanks in advance for any insights, fairly new to the publicly traded space
