Networking within CBRE/JLL/CW; Moving from Project Management to IS

Hello all- long time creeper of these boards, first time poster.

I've been in a large firm's project/development management group for 3 years now in the Texas market, but I'm looking to move to an Investment Sales group (ideally starting as an analyst). I have a finance degree from a major Texas college and have a good grasp of financial concepts used in the underwriting process, but I'm also well aware the two disciplines (Project Management versus Capital Markets) are vastly different.

I've been doing some networking within the firm, and I'll be meeting with some of the head guys of our market's Investment Sales group in the near future. Does anyone have any advice for:

  1. Using this networking opportunity as a stepping stone toward an interview
  2. Moving from a pretty different area of RE to an IS brokerage team as an analyst

Thanks in advance.
