NYC Development Process

MSRE and MBA programs, ULI and other books, and certificate programs do a good job of providing a macro and comprehensive overview of the the general development process. Does anyone know of any resources that provides a down and dirty overview of the development process in NYC, from start to finish? This is pretty much sans anything capital markets related except for perhaps construction financing since a draw schedule is a major component of the associated project management. i.e. plan submission process, ULURP process if applicable, approval of any abatement programs, interaction with building department, etc. I realize the best way to learn the process is to do, but I'm looking for alternative approaches.
