How long did the MSRED take you to complete? It says that they have a full time track and an accelerated full time as well that only takes 13 months. Which route do most students take and is it manageable to go the accelerated route?

Career Resources
Most students are in the program part time but there is a contingent who go full time. If they offer it to be 13 months, it’s feasible. Unless you want to do it in more time so you can intern and take classes at the same time (which many students do as well).
From the people I’ve spoken to it seems to take 2 years and they work in real estate - development, acqusitions etc (ex: go to work during the day say 9-5 and go to class 5-8). Obviously the company knows and maybe you can work out a certain schedule with them.
I'm in the program now and it will take me about 2.5 years while working full time and taking 2 classes per semester (roughly). I would say that most of my classmates are P/T students and F/T RE professionals. There's a mix of institutional, small shop, and family business professionals. Most, if not all the professors are adjuncts, but also work or have worked in the field, so they generally have a plethora of real world experience. The RE and Development tracks run together into the Tier III class (Capital Markets), so you might get some people with little to no RE experience, career pivoters, kids who just left U/G, etc... along the way. There's a fair amount of foreign students as well which is not always a positive when it comes to a language barrier. Overall it's not THAT hard, but I have an RE/Corp Fin background. Some classes do carry more of a workload than others which can make group work can be challenging at times given the composition of the group. There are various WhatsApp groups and there's a Facebook group for Schack students to ask about classes, plan social events, etc. PM me if you want more specifics.
What would you say the average work experience is? Talking years of exp. and their backgrounds
I would say 3-5 years of experience, so a lot of people at the analyst/associate level, generally, and backgrounds vary. For example, one classmate underwrites and securitizes large loans at a bulge bracket bank, another worked at a few institutionally backed debt shops, and now is working at a 7 person firm focused on lending on NYC MF, another is doing an equity focused internship at a major NYC family office, and another does acquisitions focused on NYC MF. Some people work on the construction side, so they know that really well, but aren't as familiar with the finance side, which is generally the reason they give as to they've enrolled in the program.
