Overpaid
I think I’m being overpaid. My new industry job salary is $77k a year, and I get paid on the 15th and the 30th. My first check was $3700 gross, my second check was 3200 gross and my third check (yesterday) was 3200 gross. Should I raise this with my company? They said I’m not eligible for receiving an end of the year bonus nor did they mention a sign on bonus.
It's probably a timing issue, check your pay stub for the $3700 and see if it's for longer than your normal 2 week period
Do not tell anyone. Immediately transfer the funds into a brokerage/ stocks so that in the eventuality they ask you to pay it back you can say you don t have it and charge them for forcing you to exit your positions early
You probably just started working a couple of days before the prior pay cycle and the company paid you for those additional days that occurred before the current period. Pretty straightforward tbh
Very rarely have I found that I'm right when I think my accounting department did something wrong regarding pay. Like others said, this was likely just the addition of a stub period when you started working.
That said - if they do ever determine that they overpaid you, you will owe them that money back.
Has this happen at an internship where they overpaid me, they didn't pay me for 3 weeks going forward to recoup it without giving me notice haha.
Yeah sounds about right, annoying they didn't give you notice. One of the few times I was right about my pay being wrong was when my insurance kicked in they took ~3 months of premium out of my paycheck. Took a few hours with HR to get that one fixed.
Yeah, they didn't have actual HR and I was dealing with the person I directly reported to. Complete bs the way they treated me/the situation but had no power.
