Real Estate Development Book Recommendations
Happy almost Friday everyone. I'm in my final semester of undergrad and have fallen in love with development. The dream is to eventually work for a developer for a few years and then go out on my own. Can I get some book recommendations for someone looking to go down this path? I'm currently reading Making It In Real Estate by John McNellis.
Definitely recommend ‘The Real Estate Game’ by Poorvu. He sets out how all of the different functions of the process interwar with each other in a high level way filled with anecdotes of his previous experience doing his own deals. Really great read.
otherwise there are quite a few threads on this so you should try and dig them out
Hey man, a lot of good threads on this topic already. Just use the search function or google "real estate books WSO" and you should get literally 100's of recommendations in the threads that come up.
The Death and Life of Great American Cities, by Jane Jacobs.
Timeless.
Walkable Cities by Jeff Speck. Its about 10 years old at this point, but a really fantastic deep dive into how to think about the development of urban cores.
