Pretty darn well. The program is that the alumni is super strong in the state of Texas. But I know some super smart dudes who went to work for Crow Holdings, Hillwood, other REIB's or PE groups.
For the most part the program doesn’t place people directly into top buy-side opportunities, save for a handful of anomalies that end up at Hines or a comparably good shop in the acquisition/development space. That said, the program does have grads that go to banks (WF, GS, etc...), debt funds (ACORE, Hall Structured Finance), and brokerages (JLL, CB, etc...). Additionally, it does have a great reputation in Texas and a strong network if that’s your desired market. I graduated from the program fairly recently so feel free to PM with any other questions you may have.
Second this. Know a small handful of people who were able to get one of those coveted Hillwood/Hines/Crow jobs right out of the program. Most ended up in analyst or brokerage roles at places like WF, Situs, etc...though you might be able to find an alum who owns their own shop who will hire you.
