Texas to NYC, doable?

All,

Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Currently working for a well known fund, and based in Europe, I have the opportunity to join one of the investment team based in Texas. Ideally, I would like to stay a few years, secure a green card/indefinite right to stay, and then potentially move to a bigger or different player (Bx, KKR, whatever…) in NYC. I am also open to different locations (LA, Chicago, Miami, DC…).

Does it seem doable from your perspective given that I) I won’t have an MBA but rather an MSc from a well known European school, meaning that it doesn’t mean shit in the US I guess, and II) I will be based in Texas, which makes it harder to network with people based in different cities.

Thank you for your feedback.
