Valuation Analyst Job Responsibilities

For those of you who work at Altus Group, Duff & Phelps, Big 4, etc. in the real estate valuation consulting groups, do you get to review over and give valuation opinions for investment transactions at the asset level or corporate level and do you also review over financial models with leverage, financing, and waterfall structures? Or do you just do operational income and expense valuation appraisals and do not touch the financing structures? Interested in joining these groups and wanted to find out the type of work at these roles. Would these not be the right groups to target if I am looking for more financial modeling? Should I target the investment banking groups at firms such as JLL, Carlton Group, Ackman Ziff, Eastdil?
